Klaus Rinke "Wasserwerk Rinke"

Fahrbereitschaft, Berlin, Germany
FAHRBEREITSCHAFT

Rinke and his works were much talked about in the 1970s. His contributions to fundamental questions about time or the element of water, for example, but also his performative body works were shown in the most important international exhibitions such as Documenta 5 and 6 or the Biennale di Venezia in 1972 and 1977. These explorations can be seen as the basis for artistic practice today.
For this year’s gallery weekend and for the first time in Berlin, the Haubrok Foundation presents the exhibition Wasserwerk Rinke by the now 82-year-old artist, who lives in Venice, Los Angeles.
It will take place on the grounds of FAHRBEREITSCHAFT and will include works owned by the artist as well as loans from the Marzona Collection and the Haubrok Collection.
On the occasion of the opening, Klaus Rinke will shed light on his work in a talk with Krist Gruijthuijsen, director of KW – Institute for Contemporary Art.
At the same time as Wasserwerk Rinke, Kicken Galerie Berlin will present the exhibition Projects (moma 1973 et al.), which Klaus Rinke opened in 1973 at the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
