The works of Robert Bosisio, Lorenzo Gnata, Edson Luli, Martina Melilli, Fulvio Morella, Gabriele Napoli, Daniel Spoerri, John Torreano, and Joe Zucker on display at the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Cavalese.
From March 22 to June 29, 2025, the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Cavalese (TN) will host the group exhibition Piazzetta Rizzoli 1, curated by Elsa Barbieri. The show brings together works by prominent artists such as Robert Bosisio, Lorenzo Gnata, Edson Luli, Martina Melilli, Fulvio Morella, Gabriele Napoli, Daniel Spoerri, John Torreano, and Joe Zucker. The exhibition explores the concept of dwelling as an existential and relational experience. The idea of place is investigated as a lived space inhabited by bodies and individuals, highlighting the relationship between the self and the community. The exhibition takes its name from the museum’s physical address, emphasizing a desire for sharing and identification with the exhibition space.
The featured works offer a multifaceted and diverse interpretation of this theme. Fulvio Morella, who previously exhibited his solo show Le stelle che non ti ho detto at the same venue, presents a new selection from his Paralympic cycle Raccontami il ritorno. Through his distinctive braille stellato—an alphabet invented by the artist—Morella reinterprets braille, transforming it into a sensory and poetic experience. Lorenzo Gnata, showcasing a work “on loan” from his solo exhibition Cosmogonie at Gaggenau in Milan, explores the balance between nature and technology, while Robert Bosisio investigates the subtle boundary between reality and the magical. Joe Zucker and John Torreano reinterpret the spatial and social dimensions of dwelling, while Gabriele Napoli and the late master Daniel Spoerri reflect on identity and the symbolic value of objects.
A special focus is dedicated to community participation through Fiammazze, a work by Martina Melilli and Mauro Diciocia. Created in collaboration with a group of women from Cavalese, the project gathers female narratives connected to the local territory, transforming them into an immersive sound experience.
The exhibition will open on Saturday, March 22, at 5:30 PM. With Piazzetta Rizzoli 1, the Museo d’Arte Contemporanea di Cavalese reaffirms its role as a hub for artistic experimentation and dialogue between artists and the community.
